All of nature’s flavours
At Canadawide we encourage our buyers to source new produce from every corner of the world.
As soon as it arrives on our premises – 140,000 square feet of state-of-the-art refrigerated warehouses – all produce is under 24-hour care. With our fleet of 50 trucks the firm delivers daily over 600 fresh items and over 40 exclusive brands.

In response to consumers’ increasing awareness of health and nutrition issues and international recipes, our offer has of course much changed over the years. Today most products – from all over the world, organic products among them – are available year round. Many of them used to be available only seasonally. By stocking a range of fresh quality produce, we’re able to satisfy, daily, the constantly evolving tastes of our multiethnic clientele in Quebec and elsewhere in Canada.

Quality
It’s thanks to the consistent quality of our products that we maintain our rank and leadership in our field. Whether it’s Quebec-grown goods or exotic imports, our buyers demand nothing short of top quality – just as our clients do, in fact. And it’s consumers who benefit.
  Variety
Variety is a factor that’s never been as greatly appreciated by consumers as it is today. It’s interesting to note that exotic products are in ever-growing demand. Our buyers follow consumer trends and tastes; they endeavour to constantly broaden the Canadawide offering.

Availability
Our range has changed over the years, of course. Formerly seasonal items – clementines, tangerines, mangos and much more – are now available at all times from multiple sources. Therefore more consumers are more satisfied more often. And the mad rushes to buy short-period items are much diminished.

Storage
When fresh products arrive at our reception docks, they’re checked for quality, taste, identification and weight. They’re then quickly moved into designated cold rooms of properly controlled, specific temperatures. They’re stored according to characteristics. Melons and strawberries, for example, shouldn’t be stored together. Onions, as you’d expect, have to be stored on their own. Some products benefit from each other’s proximity; we therefore store such pairs and groups together.
At Canadawide, respect for the product is all-important. This is why every employee undergoes a long apprenticeship after which: he knows exactly how to handle each and every fruit and vegetable; he’s mastered handling techniques for every item; he’s fully aware of every product’s green-to-ripe cycle.

Delivery
We assure the most expedient delivery of our products thanks to our fleet of refrigerated trucks. From our expedition docks to our clients’ loading docks, a truck’s temperature is checked and optimized for the best conservation conditions. And the cleanliness of every truck and every driver’s uniform is a silent testament to the quality of Canadawide’s goods and services.
